indeprod acquires av specialist

Following the acquisition of Oxford Motivation earlier this year, Indeprod has now purchased one of the UK's leading audio visual groups. Edric, which includes Edric AV and Hammonds AVS, has an enviable 50 year track record in video, multimedia, conferences, equipment hire, sales, installation and servicing.
This latest acquisition will remain stand alone. Operating from its four regional UK bases, Edric provides valuable access for Indeprod to the small / medium size UK conference support market, often ignored by the so-called 'big players’. The valuable resources added to the Indeprod portfolio will enable the company to gain a competitive advantage and provide better value by ensuring clients only pay one margin for the AV elements.
Barry Reading, Indeprod MD says: 'I very much welcome Robin Congdon and the experienced team at Edric into the Indeprod Group. Robin will remain as MD of Edric and has a challenging mandate to develop and grow the Edric business.’
At the same time Reading has appointed Mike Wortley as Group Financial Director and John Fisher as Development Director to the Indeprod board. ’Because we are expanding at such a rapid rate, I have also taken this opportunity to strengthen the board to manage our ambitious growth plan in a professional way, said Reading. ‘But we still need more people to handle the expansion we already have in-house.'
In addition, industry veteran Tony Moy has been retained to spearhead the continuing Indeprod acquisition programme. Moy’s considerable network of client and supplier contacts has been gleaned over 35 years as a global event and travel management specialist.
The Indeprod Group now employs some 80 people and is in the top ten UK event / comms / incentive houses in terms of size and stature. It plans further acquisitions in the communication, incentives and performance improvement services sectors.
